Android....

Ok so here it is.  I have an Android OS phone.  It's gret, I love it!!  Or do I??

It's a great machine that I had wanted since I first saw it come out.  Since phones now days are pretty much mini computers I thought I'd have it at least 1 year prior to wanting to replace it.  Boy was I ever wrong!!  Not 2 months after I get the phone (Mytouch 3G) a newer version of said phone comes out (Mytouch Slide) WTF??  HTC we need to talk!!

So now I can't get the new version of the phone without paying out the A$$ for it.  Now they say that the Android 2.2 upgrade to the OS is being sent through the airwaves this summer for most of the Android phones including mine.  Well the summer is over!!!  AND GUESS WHAT?!?!?    No upgrade to the OS on my phone.....

How much longer do we have to wait for this??   Well, if we believe what we read in the internet, sometime before the end of the year.....

Hopefully sooner than later....

A great place for a good cup o' joe!!

I've lived in Northport, NY for a bit over a month now.  It's a quaint small town on the north shore of Long Island.  There's a lot of great things about this town, they close down Main Street for family night, have car shows, a theatre that brings Broadway to town and lots more.  Another thing I enjoy in town is a lovely coffee shop named CaffĂ© Portofino.

Inside this lovely coffee shop there is a lot of culture and great food too!  The walls are covered with paintings by local artists and changes often with new pieces that are available for sale.  The menu items are delicious and health conscientious covering breakfast and lunch items plus usual coffee shop fair, I recommend the muffin tops!!

CaffĂ© Portofino has great friendly staff, they are very attentive and take care to ensure you get the best cup of coffee.  By the way they also have WiFi, so if you are out for a cup and need to keep up with work or just want to surf the web this is the place to be in downtown Northport.

Yes I love coffee and it's great to find a place that serves great coffee that you don't have to pay WAY TOO MUCH for!!

So if you're ever on Long Island and are craving some good coffee, company and maybe want to see some good art drop by and check it out.

Yes, I'm a geek

OK, as the title states I'm a geek.  Not one of those 18 hour a day computer using, gaming geeks but I do enjoy playing my share of video games, both PC and PS3.  What really gets to me is when I AM going to play a game and can't because of the fact thatt large corporations can't keep their servers running without issues.

The current one being World of Warcraft.  Why can't they protect their servers and keep them running?  It's ridiculous.  When one tries to log in and gets this:

one does tend to get upset, especially when one has to pay to play his game!!  I'm not asking for much, I understand Tuesdays I we can't play for half the day because of the updates and patches etc. but don't give us any other reasons not to be able to play, it's getting out of hand.

A bit about the author

Since the profile gives only a bit about me I figured I'd give you all a bit extra on me.  I was born 34 years ago on a small island in the Caribbean, you might have heard of it, Puerto Rico, the home of the best rum in the world!!  Growing up is hard to do, so they say.  Well they're right!!  We all know that in the early stages of life, not as a baby, but once you've identified yourself as an individual, you can't please anyone.  Not your parents, teachers, friends, not even your grandparents at times.  It was rough, but it ends, life goes on.  In my life I've held many jobs.  I've been a construction worker (not bad but the pay sucked), a ballroom dance teacher for kids (had fun and the pay was good), did some theatre and minor t.v. work (loads of fun, best time ever, miss it a bunch).  And this is just until I was 19...

After these jobs and struggling through classes due to partying my a$$ off I dropped out of college at 21 yrs old (BAD IDEA!!!!).  I moved on to other jobs, I worked at a very famous amusement park in Orange County Fl (no comment), I bar tended and waited tables (awesome money to be made), and am now in the USCG.  Quite a variety of jobs in a short life huh?  But it is a journey, this thing we call life.  I love my new job though, been at it for close to nine yrs now.  I tell you there is nothing better than getting paid to save lives and drive fast expensive boats, I LOVE IT!!

And this my friends is me in a nutshell.
